I lucked out, killed Aribeth too early, found that my 16th level rogue was (a) unable to use any of the prestige weapons I'd found lying around and (b) too weak to go mano-a-mano with the lizards under the castle, and gave up to try Shadows instead.

Fair play. Shadows and Hordes are my next challenge. The only problem is coming up with a different character, I've got rather attached to my longbow-nut Ranger.

Possibly a retarded question (as it's been ages since I played NWN, should really get back to it) but why not export your character to use in the expansions?

Shadows of Undrentide starts you off at level 1, so it's probably not a good idea.

You could bring your NWN character into Hordes of the Underdark (I did), which starts off around 15 - 20, but the plot is such that you're supposed to be the same character from Shadows of Undrentide.

My main char would be useless in Hordes (R12/F4)—he's geared for archery damage, but getting Wizard for Arcane Archer makes no sense. Epic Ranger with a few levels of Shadowdancer might be possible, but that's for some time in the future.

I said sod it and am trying out a high-damage Sorc/Fighter/RDD build to go through both ezpansions.
