I should probably mention

Those of you in that tiny proportion of the "Free World" who gets to vote for the Leader of the Free World had better get off your arses and vote, if you haven't already.

I'm torn between hoping that Obama wins so that the world survives longer than an old man's heart medication, and hoping that McCain wins because someone as clearly manipulative and batshit fucking insane as Sarah Palin in the VP slot would be funny to watch. From the Moon.

There's rumblings that Texas, Texas of all places might not be the strong Red state it traditionally has. So fucking do it already. Don't disappoint.

The sane part of me knows it'd be a disaster. The SF reader/writer is thinking President Palin and cackling at the possibilities.

I smell a short story challenge coming on... President Palin and the Half-Blood Russian Prime Minister, for example.

God, yes! A President Palin multifandom AU challenge would be awesome! If you want to call it let me know how I can help.

I'm voting. Lots of people are going to try to vote. But I've seen first hand some of the gerrymandering, disenfranchisement, and outright suppression that's already started. I'm going to the polls, but I have no idea if my vote will actually be cast, let alone counted. PA is purely electronic voting, no paper trail, and those machines are a security nightmare. Hopefully there will be such an overwhelming majority that they can't steal this one, but who knows.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If you see anything directly illegal

at a polling place on Election Day, call Election Protection (administered by the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law) at 1 866 OUR VOTE (687 8683). This is a special number set up by a coalition of civil rights groups to help protect voter rights on Election Day 2008.

More amusingly to me, RealClearPolitics has Arizona listed as a toss-up state. (Hint, for those of you not paying attention.)

Here from the meme
And we voted, and we won. And Palin showed that yes, she really is that crazy, and the Democrats continue to snatch defeat from victory. But hey, we're almost assuredly better off this way.
