On one hand, it sounds a little overwrought.

On the other, I'm not surprised at all. Thanks to 9/11 the government's been all about clamping down and terrorists and evil people that obviously "aren't us". It's a scary country to live in now that they feel that they can pretty much do whatever they want, and if you don't agree with them you're obviously "with the enemy".

I'm sick of it, and I'm going to be voting in the hope that things will change. I doubt they will, but I am an optimist.

I can't say I hate my country, as well, I don't.

But I can say that I hate it when people abuse their freaking power like that. It pisses me off, partly because it does just this, gives us a really bad image as a whole.

Some people just need to be dealt with. But I still love where I live, especially where I live in the United States, that being Eastern Washington.

I don't hate my country. I hate what it's becoming, and I hate the blatant fact that stories like this are cropping up more and more in our post-nine-eleven world. I believe strongly in the concepts under which America was founded...freedom, equality, a democratic and representative government, a convergence where all peoples and cultures can meet and live freely and openly...

And as I've been watching over the last few years, I've seen all that I believe in tarnish and get scratched and faded to all shit. It's like McCartheism all over again. I guess it's fair to say that I don't hate my country. Rather, I hate what's being done to it.

There. That's what I mean. From politicians to airport security. It really irritates me. Namely, I would try to get that filed under cruel and unusual punishment. Forcing someone who needs to go to the bathroom to use a toilet that's being monitored by a camera just isn't right.

Grr.

Oh, and is it just me, or are we letting terrorism win to a certain extent?

I would just like to state for the record, that the sooner the paranoid power tripping fuck-heads stop abusing there authority at the sake of the innocent, the sooner I can stop worrying about flipping out and killing people to justify there paranoia.
