Editorializing with Hyperlinks

Facebook's epic legal fail (previously, Hugh, Spud) hit the front page of free traveller's fishwrap The Metro.

Which on the one hand is a good thing, as it means that the doddering zombie that is print media isn't entirely ignorant of privacy legislation. On the other hand, I do have a couple of concerns.

First, this is the Metro; a free version of the Daily Heil with stories condensed to fit in the attention span of a weasel who's just snorted a fist-sized rock of methamphetamine. Scanning through, I noticed that it reprinted the hideously sexist headline pointed out by catnik here. So what aren't they putting on the front page?

Secondly, this is the brain-damaged arm of the Daily Heil arguing in favour of privacy. And the Daily Heil's Editor in Chimp himself has been such a fan of privacy in the past. Oh, wait.

I'd do this sort of thing more often if it weren't quite so much like work.

Edit: Oooh. Facebook backed down. But the fact that they did it to begin with is the point. Except the real real point is taking the piss out of the Daily Heil, the Metro, and Paul Dacre: Waste of a Human Genome.
