Children of Men

We've just seen Children of Men.

It is the best film I've seen in at least five years.

Sin City was a triumph of style though without the substance. Primer had a brainfuck of a lot of substance but was shot on someone's videocamera. This film has a fuck of a lot of both. Pay to see it now.

You mean there's more to it than "Oh NOES, if you don't have babies, it will be the end of the world" BS it looks like?

Trust me.
A fuck of a lot more. The trailers do not do it justice.

I went in thinking what you did. I got out and posted this.

Re: Trust me.
Well, that's heartening. Of course, I'm in the midwest. It probably won't even come here.

PD James' Aldiss rip-off? It'd be funny if the film ended up closer to Greybeard....

All I'll say is that IMO the film is better than the book.

I loved the book when I read in dumdeedumblah years ago.

Looking forward to the flick.

Personally, I think the film was better than the book. It's changed in order to work on the screen, but it does work beautifully. No needless explanations, no "as you already know", exposition that's in character, and beautiful camerawork.
