I'm watching Survrval.

It's 1989 all over again.

Maybe I'm in a nostalgic mood, but it's better than I remember.

And the story's got a message that my brain at present can work with.

It's nice to see you don't hate everything.

Maybe it's the social retardation talking, but I was always surprised by how easily Ace made friends and came to have strong feelings for them -- Kara in Survival being one example.

She may be an irritating little pyromaniac child of the 80s sometimes, but she's got it where it counts.

ah... the nitro-nine... where is when you need it...?

I assume you're referring to Who when you say everything, rather than, well, everything. Which I don't hate. I just sound like that sometimes.

I don't even hate the new series—I'm just rather critical. My love for The Empty Child two parter knows no bounds, as does that for the Doctor Who/Doom crossover that was The Impossible Planet. Hell, the dialogue at the end of The Parting of the Ways ("But you have no weapons, no defences, no *plan*!" "Yeah, and doesn't that scare you to death?") makes me tingle with glee.

It's more that I'm in favour of stories that work on more than one level, and are somewhat subtle about it. I'm more annoyed by mediocrity because there's been so much brilliance, in both the old series and the new.
