There are a few reasons why. First, I'm a short-story fiend. I prefer working in 500-2000 words, much more than that makes me baulk. I prefer writing the one scene in a novel which makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck, and the rest of the book is just filler. Tribe Novel: Silver Fangs was precipitated on two such scenes, Albrecht vs. the Margrave, and Albrecht kicking arse like a motherfucker. I could write those two scenes as well as any published author, but the padding around it is just that: padding. It bored the shite out of me, thus I ain't going to write it. Second, unless I'm doing work for someone else, my mind doesn't work in the kind of way novel writers do. I get a new idea every day or two, and they each can't work in the same tale the way my mind sees them. It's a case of watering down the characters and it just doesn't work for me.
So no, no novel from me. I've had my challenge over the past two weeks, I see no need to stress myself unduly.
