Thinking

Why does an old rant about people still using one of the most brain-damaged parts of HTML get more responses than my last three long posts? I try to be interesting, but all you want is me to tell people to fuck themselves, is that it?

The spectre of modem trouble haunts me still. For some reason, if people aren't sending me things over IM programs (I have no idea why) the connection is liable to just... stop. Stupid thing. Other than that, it's so nice to be back at a real computer, with a real keyboard and real mouse and shit.

Why is it so hard to find people with whom I converse that know either Exalted or Unknown Armies? I've enough of a need to game that I'm back to randomly creating characters I'll never get a chance to play, and the people I'm talking with ain't helping with that.

Because it's early Saturday morning, luv. The HTML post was quick and easy to respond to, hence it was weekday-fodder. The longer, more thoughtful posts usually get responses from me on late Saturday or early Sunday, when I have more time to respond intelligently.

You don't have to try to be interesting, you are interesting without trying. Although I have to admit that I rather like it when you tell people to fuck off. It's amusing seeing you do something you're so good at. :-)

I think the lack of response thing is an issue that I've run into on a handful of more intelligent forums and newsgroups.

They're long and so damned complete that it gets read, but nobody ever comments. When the same poster puts up something smaller, it gets a ton of comments. It comes down to the fact that if all the responses come down to either "Damn" or "Me too", intelligent readers just avoid commenting.

I know I've read most of your stuff lately. Just haven't either had time to comment, or anything to really say. Also, like Jim said, it's a weekend vs. weekday thing. Of course, working on the weekend (like today) doesn't tend to help either.

I'd comment on Exalted but you're in love with the Sidereals and I haven't read that book yet so I'd just be sat there nodding and smiling. We all read your LJ but if we agree with you all the time we'd look like simple minded fan boys and you'd get an ego with it's own post code.

Siddies are just my current love. I do Solars and Abyssals as well, especially He Whos Name Is Fire And Darkness, Midnight caste Hand of the Deathlords. This is the level to which I have sunk.

I just love the Zenith Solar exalted. Redemption through sweat, endurance and the blazing heat of the sun. But the whole thing is cool coz it's over the top mythological fantasy. It's a welcome relief from the grittyness of Cyberpunk and the WoD sometimes.

<marquee>Yes, actually, it is it.</marquee>

Sorry. I'd be into both if I had the time to read them over. Just barely skimmed UA and just don't know Exalted well enough to actually converse about it.
